At GIRLS RECOVERY LODGE we help our teenage clients understand addiction and its harmful consequences, develop their own recovery resources and tools, and use their personal tools to change habits and behaviors.

To meet the special needs of each client we serve, treatment is comprehensive and based on a disease model approach. Typically, treatment runs for about three months, though length of stay is based on an individual's progress and clinical condition. Certified counselors employ a traditional 12-step model based on Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous and individual and group counseling. Counseling is behavior management focused, with teen clients learning how to assume personal responsibility for their recovery.

Our professional staff also works with teens to build character traits that will support a healthy, drug and alcohol free lifestyle. The GIRLS RECOVERY LODGE curriculum includes nutrition, diet and exercise programs. Both programs include anger management, person hygiene, goal setting and other life skill classes.

Family Services

Because adolescents need support from their peers and families to make progress, Girls Recovery Lodge emphasized family involvement. Family members are encouraged to attend a family program activity at least once during their child's treatment.

Families meet together once a week as part of the treatment process so parent and guardians can learn about chemical dependency, intervention techniques, the demands of recover and available resources in the community as well as receive support and ideas from other families. Family members can also met with counselors in private.

During treatment, every parent or guardian also receive weekly progress reports from their child's primary counselor.

Vanguard Works!

Girls Recovery Lodge has a 67 percent success rate, based on a study of graduates three moths after leaving treatment.

We watch our graduates successfully leave drugs and alcohol behind and become healthy and happy young adults. Some of them even choose to become addiction counselors in order to make a difference in the lives of others.
